Montgolfier Side Chair - Cherry chair with curved crest rail. Urn-shaped splat back, woven seat with seat pad and gracefully splayed front legs. Frequently crafted with a pierced splat in the shape of a hot air balloon, such French chairs were called "Montgolfier" chairs for the brothers who first flew these balloons in 1783.
